How can I teach my parakeet to talk? Any tips? Share your own stories too!?
Hi, he is a young male and seems to be firendly and likes his new home. There is another much older bird with him in the cage but they don’t seem to mind eachother much or ‘talk’ much. Thanks for the help.

It depends on what type of parakeet it is because some cant talk.
say one word EVERYDAY. just do it step by step. once it learns a word, things will come naturally. it’s like a baby, when it learns to talk.
if you really want them to talk then you should say the same word for hours every single day believe it or not for probolly a couple weeks. i know its hard work but if you really want to.
you can sit by them an say a word over an over
also birds learn better in the morning
they also are better with words that start with K or T so hello may be harder for them..also if you leave them by a radio or a tv or jus in a spot where people gather an talk alot without you even knowing they can pick up some of the words they hear=]

okay the way to teach any bird to talk is to repeat the word that you want them to say over and over again. EG. hello hello hello
but you have to say it waaaaay more times than three.
